The problem with gun activism.
Gun enthusiasts have no problem brandishing weaponry in public. After all, it’s every citizens’ 2nd Right. Yet they don’t want people to know what guns they possess (unless they themselves are boasting about them). Here’s where it gets odd. If you see a map of where guns are and are not, then by the gun owners’ logic, this only enables criminals to target areas largely WITHOUT guns (as per the NRA’s argument to arm schools). However, this latest crime is an exact contradiction, with the burglars targeting a residence BECAUSE there are guns. Mind you, the thieves were largely unsuccessful due to the major artillery being properly stored in a SAFE and the gun enthusiast having an actual gun. However, cases such as this help to dispel the notion that firearms alone are enough to deter violent crimes.
